My research aims to contribute to the debate concerning the role of international humanitarian third sector organizations (TSOs) within the governance of the Southern European borderscapes and more in detail in the management of migration in Sicily. My study is situated at a meso–level and focus specifically on the role played by international humanitarian actors within processes of politicization and/or re-politicization of the actual European migration governance system.
